Milkpowder

Milk powder is used as a base product for the dairy market, but also as an ingredient for the bakery and confectionery industry. Powdered milk is a manufactured dairy product made by evaporating fresh milk to dryness.

Milk powder is widely used in developing countries, where an important reason to convert liquid milk into powder is, that the shelf life is extended (12 months). The reduced costs of transport and storage (reduced bulk and weight, no refrigerated shipping and storehouse required) are also of importance here.

European yearly production of milk powder is estimated around 800,000 tons.
Shipment by container (dry box).
